Duong Huynh

Physiotherapist

Duong (“young”) is a Registered Physiotherapist who was born and raised in Toronto. He graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario after completing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at York University. While his wife was studying in London, Duong began working in private practice commencing 2013. He has treated clients with primarily musculoskeletal conditions, but also has special interests in concussion, vestibular rehabilitation, and neuromuscular conditions. In 2015, he set up the physiotherapy department at the Community Health Centre in London, Ontario. There he developed and implemented new programming to serve those with barriers to care, including poverty, homelessness, language and culture, and complex conditions such as mental health and addictions. Currently, Duong is excited to be back home in the GTA where he continues to provide dedicated, quality care to his clients.

Duong takes a client-centered approach to treatment. He involves the client in goal-setting and takes time to explain the assessment and treatment process. He educates clients about strategies and prescribes exercises to decrease pain, optimize functional mobility and strength, and prevent injuries. In addition to education and exercise, his treatment sessions can include a combination of manual therapy (joint and nerve mobilization), soft tissue release, acupuncture, and dry needling. He continues to expand his clinical skills by pursuing continuing education courses. He believes it is crucial to stay in touch with the most current practices, research, and techniques to provide the highest quality treatments to his clients. Duong is on his way to be certified in McKenzie Method, Advanced Shoulder Practice, Trigger Point Dry Needling, and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment.

In his spare time, Duong enjoys spending time with his two little kids, friends, and family. He also enjoys training his dog and parrot, resistance training, golfing, and the outdoors. Lastly, he is a big foodie.
